“Growing up in a large family as the youngest child made me a happy. I did not realize how poor my family was, until a teacher gave us an assignment to determine what our social class was. I was shocked to discover that my family was considered low class. Since then, I developed the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to be successful in life, and that through organizing you can create those opportunities.”
