Laresha Franks

Laresha is a South LA native who developed a passion for working in the nonprofit sector straight out of college, when she served as an independent living skills coach for adults with developmental disabilities at a small nonprofit organization based in West LA. Laresha brings over ten years of nonprofit program development and project management experience to Community Coalition. Proud to be working in her community, since 2013, she has helped expand the organization’s fundraising, grants and contract administration capacities. Currently, Laresha engages community and individuals in the public and private sectors through the administration of multi-year initiatives that advance social equity in the areas of public safety, health and substance abuse prevention and control. Laresha is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, and holds a Masters of Science degree in Nonprofit Management from The New School University’s School of Public Engagement in New York City.

Fun Fact: Laresha moonlights as a stand-up comedienne in her home when no one is looking and she is also a rescue pet parent to a Min Pin/Chihuahua named Jada.
