“My mother always encouraged me to not look at my deficits, but to focus on my strengths. To some this may be a simple statement, but my experience taught me that this was not always the case. At the age of 13 I made a commitment to myself that I would work to help others realize their full potential and focus on their strengths to make possible the changes they wished to see in their communities or in their own lives. I am happy to say I am still living up to that promise.”
Laresha Franks obtained her B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, and her M.S. in Nonprofit Management at The New School for Public Engagement in New York City. She currently serves as Community Coalition’s Development Specialist, and has been with Community Coalition since 2013.
