Born and raised in Madison, WI. Maddie recently received her Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California with a concentration in Social Change and Innovation and a certificate in Non-Profit Management. She gained her strong political lens and passion for racial equity as she attended Saint Louis University for undergraduate, studying Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Global and Local Social Justice. During her time in Saint Louis, MO she was guided by Dr. Norm White, a criminologist by trade yet dedicated to finding solutions to eradicating homelessness amongst youth and disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline. Through mentorship, Maddie co-founded Overground Railroad to Literacy, an organization that is committed to providing academic support and resources to disenfranchised schools while facilitating dialogue with predominately white students to discuss structural inequities that perpetuate white privilege, prejudice, and ignorance that is pervasive in predominately white institutions and the at large, society.
Fun Fact: She was a bouncer in college.
