Mariesa Samba is an advocate. She is the proud daughter of Black immigrants who came to the United States seeking refuge from the Sierra Leone Rebel War. Mariesa holds a B.A. in Community Development and Urban Planning from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She has combined five years experience in service delivery, data management and advocacy campaigns. She is an alumnae of the Justice Policy Network Fellowship, AmeriCorps Public Allies Los Angeles, and Jubilee Year. She is currently working on a project, “For Colored Girl Who Panic” that is both a meditation and an affirming call to action for women of color in the movement.
