The People Power Convention is an annual convening that harnesses the power of our community through education, mobilization and organizing in order to inspire attendees to own their power and role in leading transformative change in South Los Angeles.
This year’s theme, “Fighting for the Future of Los Angeles,” will explore what’s at stake on the upcoming 2020 Ballot and will include a series of community workshops and strategy sessions on key issues affecting Angelenos in the areas of criminal justice reform, education and political engagement.

Parking & Directions
The 4th Annual People Power Convention will be located at Los Angeles Trade Technical College (400 W Washington Blvd). Free Parking is available at the Olive Street Parking Lot (2001 S. Olive Street Los Angeles, CA 90007).
Van Jones is a social entrepreneur, CNN political contributor and host of The Van Jones Show on CNN. Famous for his heart-felt election night coverage, Jones showed up as “the voice of reason” for people in red states and blue throughout the volatile 2016 political season.

The People Power Convention Civic School gives the next generation (ages 12 & under) an opportunity to harness the power they have within to envision the change they want to see in their communities. Parents can drop off their children at Civic School to receive their own special programming and pick them up at the end of the day!
