Susana Ochoa-Valle

“I discovered my passion for social justice while in college when I took a course on race and racism. Prior to that, I had no words to express the injustices that I had experienced and seen as a Latina immigrant.  The course opened my eyes and heart, and helped me find the vocabulary to describe my experience.  It motivated me to choose a career path focused on social justice where I could work alongside my community.”

Susana interned at Community Coalition from 2010 to 2011 while in graduate school. After working for two years as a Children’s Social Worker for the Department of Children and Family Services, she returned to Community Coalition in 2013 to join the Kinship In Action program.  Susana received her B.A. in Sociology from Biola University and her M.S.W. from UCLA.
