Terio Ruiz

“When I ate in the student cafeteria at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), as a college student, the Food Service workers would often tell me about the injustices they faced and how they would fight for what rightfully belonged to them. Their passion for social justice then influences me. I am passionate about the work I do and want to help empower Black and Latino residents of South LA to affect change in their communities.”

Terio Ruiz was born and raised in South LA. He graduated from LMU in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Screenwriting. After leaving LMU, he did a year of service with an AmeriCorps program known as City Year Los Angeles. In 2015 he joined Community Coalition.
