Tylo James

A native of South Los Angeles, Tylo fell in love with community organizing at the tender age of 15, as a leader in Community Coalition’s SCYEA program. Tylo is the definition of a homegrown leader and viewed her matriculation at UCLA as win for her community. After graduation, she returned home to South LA and CoCo in order to continue her activism and organizes youth at her alma mater, Dorsey High School. She is passionate about leveling the playing field of education and the material conditions of Black and Brown young people.

Fun Fact: Tylo is a committed yogi and enjoys creative writing.
