16 Feb Celebrating Community Leader Franklin Tilley
Community Coalition is celebrating the rich, full life of one of its beloved longtime members, Franklin Tilley, who passed away on Feb. 1 at age 79. He is recognized for his leadership and dedication to his neighborhood and community. As one of Community Coalition’s veteran members, Tilley helped lead the organization’s fight against the proliferation of liquor stores in South L.A. “He was involved in so many things,” recalled Rosemary Priebe, a Community Coalition member. “He was out there knocking on doors and talking to everybody about the change we needed in South L.A.” His Community Coalition family celebrates his life and legacy.
