Joann Guerilus is a writer and filmmaker who hails from Brooklyn, NY. She has produced several short films, including the award-winning documentary “Fighter,” which was awarded the 3rd place prize at the 2012 Homeless Has a Name Film Festival. A first-generation Haitian-American, Joann is an ardent believer in community. She uses film to tell authentic and emotionally driven stories that empower and create lasting change in underserved communities.
Fun Fact: Joann got her first passport at two months old and lived in Haiti for the first four years of her life.
