While COVID-19 Vaccines Roll Out Statewide, Community Coalition Reminds Everyone  to Wear Masks, Wash Hands, and Keep Your Distance

With COVID-19 vaccines rolling out across the state over the next few months Community Coalition reminds all community members to continue the safety practices that help prevent transmission of coronavirus.

“Your actions definitely save lives,” said Corey Matthews, Chief Operating Officer for Community Coalition. “While we are waiting our turn to get vaccinated, everyone should continue to wear masks, wash their hands frequently and keep their distance from others. And even if you’ve been vaccinated, it’s important to keep wearing your mask to keep our family and friends who might not have received their vaccines safe and healthy.”

“The vaccines have been shown to be safe and up to 95% effective in preventing COVID-19 in clinical trials and have been validated by medical experts,” Matthews said. But everyone must recommit to using safety precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Far too many people have lost their lives to COVID-19, and many Californians still have lingering health issues from past infections. Community Coalition, in partnership with LA County, Charles Drew University, and Rite Aid will provide up to 1,000 vaccines next Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Helen Keller Park from 12 pm – 6 pm. Walk-ins may be taken, but we encourage those who are interested in getting vaccinated pre-registered here

By getting immunized we help each other and prevent more illness and loss of life. For questions about COVID-19 symptoms, testing and vaccination should contact their health care provider or call the state’s COVID-19 hotline at (833) 422-4255. The hotline is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, or from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
