Kendal Turner

Kendal is the Executive VP & Chief Financial Officer Los Angeles Economic Devlopment Corporation. The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation is a nonprofit organization focused on equitable economic growth in the Los Angeles region. Kendal shares the organization vision to create reimagined Los Angeles regional economy – growing, equitable, sustainable, and resilient – that provides a healthy and high standard of living for all.

Before her current role, Kendal served as a Chief Financial Officer in the charter school sector for eleven years, serving students in the greater Los Angeles area, New Orleans, LA, Ohio, and Florida. Before entering the charter school sector, Kendal was an auditor servicing clients in the nonprofit, government, and education industries. Prior to becoming an executive in the charter school sector, she spent time in public accounting, performing audits of various local, state and quasi-governmental entities as well as public and private universities, charter schools and non-profit organizations. She has supported charter schools and nonprofit boards through strategic planning, start-up, expansion, and fiscal oversight.

Kendal earned a Masters of Governmental Accountancy from Rutgers University and a Bachelor in Accountancy from University of New Orleans. She also holds Bachelor in Arts degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University. She currently a doctoral student in Public Administration at California Baptist University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (LA and CA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
