I’m reaching out to invite you to sponsor Community Coalition’s 2026 People, Power, Progress Awards. The Awards will take place in person on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at an exciting new location—the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in South Los Angeles!
Community Coalition was founded in 1990 by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to address the impact of the crack cocaine epidemic on youth and families in South Los Angeles. Today, Community Coalition is recognized as a community institution with an exemplary track record of empowering local residents to seek tangible changes in education, child welfare, and public safety, with the goal of creating a safer, healthier South LA for all.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing this year’s “People’s Heroes” honorees. The “People’s Heroes” are distinguished individuals who might not be famous today but are heroes nonetheless to those committed to social change in South Los Angeles.
