For 30 YEARS, WE HAVE #SteppedUp FOR SOUTH LA.
WE WERE BORN FOR THIS MOMENT.

CoCo was born for this moment. As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we face another epidemic and uprising. We, in fact, are actually reliving our origin story. Community Coalition was born out of the crack epidemic and then quickly thrust into the 1992 Uprising. Since then, we have tested and proven time and again that the people most impacted by crisis should be included in creating solutions for sustained change.

Learn more about the

Community Coalition is celebrating the triumphant past of the Civil Rights, Women’s, and Labor Movements which laid the foundation for our work today. Our organization has been shaped during the backlash of the right-wing politics, the crack cocaine epidemic, mass incarceration and the rollback of women’s rights. Today, new leaders are taking on the task of continuing our victories, confronting the right-wing agenda and rebuilding a culture of civic pride and community involvement.

As a new generation social justice organization, Community Coalition facilitates the growth of this movement by lifting our core values of community, organizing and leadership development. The People Power Progress Party celebrates all who are leading today’s movement for a brighter tomorrow.
