Position(s) Available:

Community Organizer: A Community Organizer at Community Coalition is responsible for building an informed base of South LA residents who are engaged in leading grassroots campaigns on behalf of their community. To be successful in this, the primary duties of an organizer include conducting outreach and recruitment with youth and/or adult residents via canvassing, phone banking, house visits, etc., around campaigns and initiatives pertinent to South LA and cultivating the community’s ongoing involvement in those efforts. The Public Grants Manager: The Public Grants Manager is responsible for the oversight of current and future public (federal, state, local) contracts that Community Coalition is awarded. This includes day-to-day coordination and evaluation of contract program activities that encompass: public health prevention programs, community outreach and resident leadership development activities. The Public Grants Manager coordinates with public funders, community organizations and stakeholders to administer programming and maximize impact. The Public Grants Manager ensures all deliverables are met through a set of quality controls and routine contractual and programmatic compliance checks. Director of Civic Engagement: The Director of Civic Engagement is expected to: lead the organization’s Civic Engagement Department (including the workforce development component) which includes providing direction, support, training, and supervision to other team members; collaborating closely with managers, other directors, and senior leadership to accomplish the department’s and the collective goals of the organization; represent the organization with external stakeholders as appropriate; be knowledgeable of project budgets, and provide leadership to help effectively steward organizational resources; understand the compliance of HR systems with the ability to hold other team members accountable; create summaries/reports to synthesize and share information with the Board of Directors and executive team; directly support the community-facing work of the organization when a full organizational push is required.  Click to View Full Job Description
