Carlos Leon grew up in Mexico City and was raised in South LA. He’s one of Community Coalition’s Youth Academy SCYEA Alumni. His passion for immigration reform and building community led him to be part of several groups and organizations that were integral to the passage of DACA and other programs. As an intern at Community Coalition, he was an activities coordinator for its Freedom Schools summer program. Now, as a CSULB graduate, he works as an organizer and health and wellness coordinator assisting with several health projects including work with the Center for Disease Control
Fun Fact: Carlos was able to join a Salsa group and perform at the LA Salsa Congress.
