Gary Stewart has a 35-year background in the entertainment industry working at Rhino Entertainment as the Senior Vice President of Artists and Repertoire. Gary transformed the organizational culture from paid volunteerism and non-traditional corporate giving to community organizing. He also worked at Apple’s Itunes Music Store for seven years and currently doing catalog curation at Apple Music.
Gary has been active with the Liberty Hill Foundation on their various boards since 1992. He served as Chair of the Liberty Hill Foundation board from 1999 – 2003. Gary also served on the board of the Social Venture Network, a nonprofit membership organization composed of socially responsible business leaders from 1997 – 2000. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE).
Gary is a donor, fundraiser and activist on social justice issues and progressive candidates and initiatives including living wages, progressive taxation, marriage equality, affirmative action and immigrant rights.
He joined Community Coalition’s Board of Directors in October of 2015.
