Qiana Charles is the Chief of Staff for the Office of the President at Southern California Edison. She is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and high-level recommendations on behalf of the President to senior managers, executives, and influential stakeholders. As the Chief of Staff, Ms. Charles also coordinates the administrative and operational functions of the President’s Office with an emphasis on planning support in maintaining relationships and facilitating communication with key constituencies including company executives, community, multi-state, and national industry groups.
Prior to joining SCE, Ms. Charles served as a policy consultant to the California State Assembly Elections and Redistricting Committee, where she analyzed legislation related to the initiative process, voter registration, and electioneering. In addition, she served as a policy advisor to then California State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas and the Legislative Black Caucus.
Ms. Charles is a member of the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute and Leadership California, organizations both dedicated to advancing women’s leadership skills and roles in business and public policy. She is also a very active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., with the Pasadena/Altadena Chapter.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from California State University, San Bernardino, and a master’s degree in organizational communication from Howard University in Washington, DC.
